Whilst working at Associated Newspapers I was part of the core design team which built the original Daily Mail website. This was probably the biggest development in the Daily Mail newspaper's 100+ years history.
This was the first newspaper site in the UK built with modern web coding standards - with the structure built using divs rather than tables. It was also the first major UK newspaper to consider accessibility access issues of users, when coding the site.
Launched in April 2004. the project took just over six months from start to finish. The design had to incorporate challenging editorial requirements and demanding commercial ad sizes.
